Snowdrop Safari - Saturday 3rd February 2018
A six mile ramble starting at Spring Wood car park near Dimminsdale (free) and walking along part of the Staunton Harold ridgeway, keeping your eyes open for the key hole viewpoint carved in the wall and looking down onto Staunton Harold Hall, the Commonwealth church (currently with scaffold on one wall), the reservoir and the Ferrers Craft Centre.  We then move on to parts of the Ivanhoe way to Heath End and into Calke, Park, where we will stop for tea, coffee etc.  Finally we go into the Woodland Trust’s Dimminsdale nature reserve, where there are 1,000s of snowdrops plus old limekilns and the Laundry Pool.
Mostly good field paths and tracks, a couple of ascents, no stiles but muddy after rain.  The track around the nature reserve is uneven in places.

Meet at the car park at 9.45 am for a 10.00 am start
